ASTM A182 F316 Blind Flange and UNS S31600 Weld Neck Flanges manufacturer in India
What is Stainless Steel 316 Flanges?
Stainless Steel 316 Flanges belong to austenitic grade. These flanges have a superior concentration of chromium, nickel, and molybdenum. The excellent composition gives these flanges enhanced corrosion and oxidation resistance. Their high tolerances allow these flanges to form a secure and tight sealing within the system. The flanges in this grade are also less prone to pitting by chlorides allowing them to be utilized in marine grade applications.
Comparision Between ASTM A182 F316 Slip On Flange and ANSI B16.5 SS 316 Socket Weld Flanges
An ASTM A182 F316 Slip On Flange is one of the most used and economical flanges having a low-profile head. These flanges are passed over pipes or tubes and welded in place using one or two filler welds. Standard slip on flanges are not preferred in high-pressure applications.
SS 316 socket weld flanges are less common flanges, which require less space compared to traditional flanges. These flanges are preferred in pipes of nominal sizes and are assembled using a single fillet weld. They can withstand high pressures in pipes of small sizes.

ASME SA182 SS 316 Weld Neck Flange Application
Weld neck flanges within this grade are preferred in applications where fluctuating temperatures and pressures are at the highest. They are also utilized in systems, which have to handle and transport hazardous and toxic fluids and gases. Most common applications within this grade include:
Water treatment plants
Petroleum refining
Chemical processing
Food and beverage systems
Pharmaceutical industry
Power generation

UNS S31600 WNRF Flanges vs DIN 1.4401 Blind Flange
Flanges are versatile components, which can be classified based on their load-bearing, faces, and temperature resistances.
The UNS S31600 WNRF flange can be recognized by a long protruding hub. Din 1.4401blind flange doesn’t have a face or hub.
WNRF flanges can withstand high pressures and temperatures systems. Blind flanges help in sealing or blocking piping ends against the vigorous flow of fluids and gases.
Blind flanges are bolted and allow for inspection and repair in the system. Weld neck flanges are butt-welded directly to the piping component.
