What is Incoloy 800 Pipe?

Incoloy 800 Pipe belongs to a small category of super austenitic stainless steel products. These pipes have a composition of nickel, iron, and chromium to lay down a solid base allowing it to add additives like copper, molybdenum, etc. The grade of pipes exhibit superior strength and have high resistance against oxidation and carburization across high temperatures. These pipes are also known to have excellent tolerances in aqueous environments and resistance to stress-corrosion chloride cracking.

Incoloy has three types of components, which have their unique properties, which are listed below.

• Incoloy 800ht grade is the modification of 800 Incoloy grade.
• Incoloy 800 and 800ht have identical compositions, but the 800ht has an additional composition of up to 1.20 percent of aluminum and titanium.
• The 800ht has higher creep rupture and strength compared to Incoloy 800.
• 800 Incoloy is used in applications where the range of temperature is up to 1100 degrees F. The 800ht Incoloy grade is used in applications where standard temperatures are above 1100 degrees F.

What is P Number of 800ht Pipe?

The P number of a pipe is based on a group of base metals that help in the qualification of an entire selection rather than just one. These metals are clubbed and distributed based on the material and assigned the P number based on their material type. The 800HT Pipe is assigned a P number 43 due to its high concentration of nickel, chromium, and iron.

• Rectangular pipes are manufactured from coils, which are run over a series of dies. An Erw pipe is produced by cold-rolling metal and then welding it in place.
• ERW pipes join metal longitudinally while rectangular pipes are welded in the interior to manufacture these products in the correct shape.
• Erw pipes are classified based on their schedules and nominal sizes. Rectangular pipes are classified and purchased based on their outside dimensions and wall thickness.
• Erw pipes ensure a smooth flow of fluids or gases across the system. A rectangular pipe may result in uneven flow characteristics.
